feeltherainfall: A Walk to Remember
Jul. 5th, 2010 03:52 pmSam sat on the steps of the apartment building, waiting as he flipped a coin between his fingers. It was his “One Year” sober token, having earned it actually a few weeks ago, but he wasn’t counting anymore. His parole officer and social worker, yes, but not him; it was easier to just put it all in the past and focus on the future.
A future that might include Jo again. The thought made him smile, remembering seeing her again for the first time at Cas and Pam’s wedding. Seeing her happy, smiling, and enjoying herself had made him smile, but afraid to walk over to see her. But of course his “family” had other ideas and now…

Jun. 23rd, 2010 07:25 pm[Happy Birthday
iluvroadrunner6!!! Here's your gift fic!]
When Olivia was six, Sam had taken a job that he needed to do a bit of hands on research in California. Seeing that it was summer and Olivia had just graduated kindergarten, Sam thought it would be a nice family road trip.
It had been a long time since Sam had been on the road for multiple days with his brother. And now with a child in the back seat, the trip took longer. Potty break stops, food, drinks, and little sideshow attractions made the drive three times longer than Dean probably would have liked.
But it was worth it as Olivia looked up to see a life-sized Snoopy standing in front of her. She tugged on Sam's arm until he knelt down beside her. "Can I hug him?"
"Do you want to?" Sam asked back in the same whispered voice, and she gave him a huge nod of her head. "Okay then, give him a big hug." He took the balloon and bottle of water from her hands, and watched as Olivia went running up to the large dog and hugged him tightly.
"Still got that coin? We could wish her up a life sized teddy bear," Dean remarked from behind him, and Sam just looked up at him with a raised eyebrow. Dean kept smiling and held out the brochure. "I say after you put her to bed, we sneak out and check out the ghost town. It could be like old times."
"I'm not leaving my six year old daughter alone in a motel room while we hunt fake ghosts, Dean."
"Spoilsport. You're just mad that you're too tall to ride the rides in this park."
"Why don't you go over to the water-park and , I dunno, drown yourself."
"Daddy!" Sam looked up to see Olivia dragging Snoopy over to him with a big smile. "I told Snoopy you wanted to hug him too."
And before Sam could say anything, the costumed character hugged him, his large nose hitting Sam right in the stomach to knock all the air out of him. There was a flash later as Dean snapped a picture with his camera. "That's going in the scrapbook."

charloft: 100 Drabbles of Summer #4 - Bugs
Jun. 6th, 2010 10:40 pmSam was well aware that people all over the world ate strange things like bugs, but there was something about Dean watching Survivor that just made him gag. “Seriously, dude, can you shut that off? It’s gross.”
“Hell no, the chicks are barely wearing anything, and what they are wearing is soaked. It’s like porn.”
“If you want to want to watch porn, I can just go to the diner across the street to finish my book.”
“And you not be here when Dad gets back? Hell now. Just shut up and face the other direction.”
Sighing, Sam turned and tried to get back into his summer reading…
“Oh yeah, baby. Take that top off to get the maggots out of your cleavage. You want something nibbling down there, I’ll be glad to help…”
”DEAN!”

un_love_you: 22. I hate myself
May. 18th, 2010 08:39 pmJust one hit turned into two. That turned into stay the night... please don't go Sammy... just one more... soft words whispered against soft skin and his head tilted back to let them take more. Let her take more. Let her take him.
On a low he remembers the light of his life, curled up into another woman's arms on the crappy green couch that was the front seat to his personal hell. She pets his hear and whispers in his ears that everything will be alright. She will take care of him.
She's gone...
I know, Sammy...
I can't live without her. I don't want to...
Don't say that. Just stay here with me, Sammy. I'm not going anywhere and you know I would never hurt my big puppy.
And she pet his hair and pushed the next needle in, and somewhere along the way Sam just let himself break apart and float away as he finally gave in on that couch and let her take control to ride them both straight into hell.
The heat rose and as they cried out she leaned forward and whispered sweet promises of nothing and everything in his ear. But the only thing Sam could do was cry at the life that lay broken on the floor beside him.

Puppy Love
Jan. 23rd, 2010 02:14 pmooc: this is a future fic for the Hungry Like a Wolf verse, written for
gusthemoose and takes place about 3 years from where they currently are. Everyone is borrowed from the various muns with permission and put back in the same place I found them in. Enjoy!
Sam knew it wasn't going to be the last hunt he would go on with his brother - he was pretty sure that Dean or himself would go crazy without the breaks from their separate lives - but things were going to change in just a few days that would have Sam's life take a new turn on path. And now there was a were-kitten in the backseat purring as he slept in the sunspot that was coming through the back window. With Alec traveling with Dean, Sam knew his brother was going to be okay during the times he was gone.
But right now he was holding his cell phone, checking it every few minutes to see if maybe he had missed a call or text. The second someone in the pack called him, he was going to rush out of that car and make his way back to them. Heather was going to need him, and he promised that he would be there for this. She was insistent that they maintain their independent lives, but this was going to change both of their lives.
Part of him was afraid, but a bigger part of him couldn't wait for this.
"You keep looking at that phone, you're gonna break it," Dean pointed out, chuckling as he crumpled up his breakfast burrito wrap and tossed it into the floor of the back seat.
"I'm just nervous." Sam put the phone on the dash.
"You're about to have triplets. I'd be scared out of my mind knowing there's going to be three miniature versions of you running around here." Dean smirked. "Seriously, Sam, you'll be ok."
He nodded, taking a deep breath and nodding to himself. He was going to be fine. This was a moment they had been waiting for now for almost a year. And yet he was still as scared as the day Heather had asked him the question...

Sam knew that look in his brother's eyes as he sat next to the fireplace at Bobby's place. It was the hurt and lost look. The "I don't want to talk about it" look. The "I'm hurting and I can't let myself show it."
The "I failed" look that Dean wore anytime someone died on a job. But this time Sam knew the look better than Dean could know.
It was the look Sam had worn so many times before - Jess. Dad. Madison. Dean. And even Ruby. The pain of losing someone who you loved more than just a girl in the next town, or the buddy you saw once a year if you were lucky. he knew that pain intimately, and he knew it wasn't something that you could face alone. Hell, Dean had already shown just how well he could handle it on his own.

50prompts: Playboy
Nov. 9th, 2009 06:11 pmWhen he was deep inside, it wasn't about lust. Feeling himself buried to the hilt, two legs wrapped around him as he tested to see how far he could go... how far she'd let him... it wasn't because he wanted her.
There was no power play here. His back, her back - didn't matter. The slap of skin; the sliding; caress; slick and heat; It had it's own power. Magic. It brought him into the moment and made him forget about the world.
Nothing existed but the tightness around him, urging him to take and give. There may have been love, but in the heat of the moment he didn't think of it. It was a means to an end. A sharing of pleasure and hinted with an edge of pain.
Only those who got this close knew there was a hell hound behind those puppy eyes. A beast who had been whipped so many times and needed to find some release. His heart was too pure to hurt others, but in this act, it was felt.
Thrusts that rocked more than just the body under him. Teeth. Bruises that appeared for days afterward that kept a soreness that reminded them for days of that night. Feeling his skin tighten until the darkness seeped out in gasps and growls as he took.
Sam...
Hearing his name from another's lips kept him grounded and getting lost in that dark side. Hazel eyes watching pleasure vibrate off his partner. Soft breaths in his ears, moans that vibrated his skin as he broke out in sweat. Fingernails gripping his skin as he gave.
This wasn't something he wanted. He needed this. A moment where he could balance the light and dark in him. A moment of focus and clarity.
A moment of love, hate, and everything in between that just grew until it exploded behind his eyes and he collapsed into waiting arms that slicked his hair back and whispered sweet nothings into his ear.
A moment where he could just be without judgment or punishment. The fate of the world didn't rest on his shoulders, just her hands squeezing out every ounce of him until there was nothing left to give.
A moment in which he was everything.
Nothing.
Sam.

Future Fic Request: Alec & Sam - "Escape"
Nov. 8th, 2009 01:24 pm"Alec? You here?"
Sam looked around the Seattle house, knowing that his nephew was supposed to be here somewhere watching his daughter. Ruby had gone off for a girl day with Amy, and Sam had to run out and check up on something that Bobby had called him on.
Which left Alec being the local babysitter.
"Alec? Olivia? Are we playing hide and seek?"
There was still no answer, and Sam checked out the window to make sure Alec's bike was still parked outside. Seeing it there, he started upstairs, then stopped when he heard a giggle. "Olivia?"
The house had been cleaned up considerably since they moved in, otherwise Sam might have been freaked out a bit, especially when he heard the tiny footsteps run behind him, but there was no one when he turned around.
"Ok, guys... this isn't funny."
"Sam?"
Alec's whisper caught Sam's attention and he made his way down the hallway. Opening the door to Olivia's room, Sam stopped and just stood in the doorway a moment. He licked his lips, trying not to start laughing.
"Save me..." Alec asked from where he was tied up on the floor. There was ribbon all over him, pinning his arms and legs into awkward positions. He looked like a maypole that had gone wrong and fallen over.
"What happened?" Sam asked, laughing as he reached for a pocket knife. He got closer, then stopped as he realized that there was... whiskers on Alec's face, drawn with a marker. Tilting his head, there was a tail attached to Alec's pants and a headband with cat ears laying nearby on the ground.
"She was showing me how to dance with ribbons," Alec stated. "Next thing I know she's got me tied up, petting me and saying..."
"Poor Kitty!" Olivia bounced into the room, running into Sam's arms. "He fall down and went boom!" Alec whimpered as Olivia leaned down and put a bandaid right onto his nose, then kissed it. "All better!"
Sam just laughed. "Sweetie, you're not supposed to tie your babysitters up," he told her as he worked to cut Alec free. Once free, Alec quickly stood up, taking off the bandaid and tail. Olivia looked up at Alec and pouted.
"But I wanna keep him!"
"He's your cousin, Olivia. Not your pet."
"She drew on me, Sam," Alec pointed out, kicking his hand and them rubbing at his cheek.
"I'm sorry."
"Kitty!!!!!" Olivia held her arms out, wanting Alec to pick her up.
"If I were you, I'd escape now." Sam kept his grip on his daughter.
"Next time, get Ben to babysit." Alec smirked a bit. "I'd love to see what she does to him."
"I'll keep that in mind." Standing up, he shifted Olivia to sit on his hip. "Thank you, though."
"No problem."

Kiss Request : Sam/Lana - Forehead
Nov. 8th, 2009 12:40 pmSam knew he probably looked like one of those old-fashioned movies where the hero came walking into town in the middle of the night, fog rolling in ahead of him. Of course, he was missing the leather pants and the long duster coat.
Instead, he had on his jeans and hooded jacket, and quietly found his way to Lana's place in Smallville. Dean already had his own motel room for the night, and wasn't expecting Sam back for at least 24 hours.
As things between Sam and Dean got better, Sam felt stronger with himself and his interactions with people. He still believed that being around him was dangerous, but he took his own precautions.
And he just missed her so much. They were in town, and he couldn't not come to visit.
He was quick as he picked the lock into her place, making sure no one was paying any attention to him. The alarm was quickly disarmed, and he was pleased to see her salt lines were in place, and as he walked through the home, he knelt to place a new hex bag behind a few books on a shelf.
Making his way into the bedroom, he smiled at seeing her there snuggled under the blankets. Barely making a noise, he leaned over her and brushed some hair from her face before planting a kiss on her forehead.
As her eyes opened to look at who was in the room, he just smiled at her. "Hey. Mind if I join you?"

Sam looked down at the two children curled up next to him. He was sitting in Sophia's bed - just barely able to fit - with his daughter in his lap trying to see the pictures in the big fairytale book he was reading from. Michael was sitting next to him, wedges between the wall and his father's hip, his head managing to sneak over enough to see the pictures as well, even if it was a girly story and he didn't really care.
"Hey guys, do you want to hear the story or not? Mommy's going to be home soon and you both need to be asleep by then."
"Sorry, daddy," they both said, and curled up closer to Sam so he could keep reading.
"and so then the fairy grandmother turned the pumpkin into a coach and told Cinderella that she had to be back by midnight, or everything would turn back to normal..."

Bela came back home to a quiet home, smiling as she put the keys on the table and her jacket in the closet. "Sam? Are you awake?" she called softly into the house, not wanting to wake the children. However, when her husband didn't reply, she made her way towards the bedrooms to see where everyone was.
As she opened Sophia's room, her hand came to her mouth to hold back to sound of her intake of breath. Sam was slumped in the bed, half sitting and half starting to slide out as long leg was already on the floor. Sophia was curled tightly against his chest and one of Sam's arms held her close. The other arm was wrapped around Michael and he tried not to fall between the bed and the wall from his spot against Sam's side.
Walking into the room quietly, she picked up the book from the floor and put it on the bookshelf. She then walked over and ran a hand through Sam's hair. "Sam, wake up," she said softly.
He whimpered, his hands instinctively clutching his kids tighter to him as he opened his eyes. He saw Bela and gave her a sleepy smile. "Hey, didn't hear you come in."
"Well, you look completely adorable right now, so I will forgive your lack of hunter instincts this time." She leaned down and kissed his nose. "Though I have to admit, I'm a bit jealous."
He got a goofy half-asleep smile at the kiss, then looked at her in confusion. "Why?"
"Here I am, out working hard to pay for everything, and I come home to find you in bed with not only a beautiful girl draped across your chest, but a handsome young man clinging to you. Maybe I should go back out and find myself someone to snuggle with tonight."
Sam sighed and gave her a pitiful look. "Would you feel better if I told you my neck is killing me from having fallen asleep like this?"
Bela considered a moment, then smiled. "I can make do with that." She moved to pick Sophie up off Sam's chest, and the little girl didn't even wake up as she curled into her mother's arms. "Put Michael to bed, and then I'll help massage that neck of yours before I get some snuggle time with you."
Getting out of the bed, Sam picked his son up, holding him close. He watched Bela a moment as she knelt down to tuck Sophia back in before heading out of the room and across the hall to Michael's. Laying his son down, he smoothed the tousled hair and kissed the boy's forehead before heading back into the hallway. Bela met him there, and Sam wrapped his arms around her waist, leaning down to kiss her gently.
"So now do I need to read you a story before bed as well?" he asked her, taking her hand and they walked towards their bedroom.
"I'm sure I can think of easier ways for you to help me get to sleep," Bela teased, turning to walk backwards into the bedroom. "After all, I already know how this fairy tale ends."
"How's that?"
Bela just smiled. "Happily Ever After."

"Yes."

Also for Serena's requested kiss on the forehead
It was a rainy day and the traveling circus - as Sam was getting used to calling it - had found a hotel to take over for the night. All he had heard was something about strip poker game and Sam had snuck out the door and found his room.
There were days he realized that he was probably the only sane person in this group. He had stopped counting the amount of Deans and Sams that flocked to the inter-dimensional aura that surrounded Serena, and instead just put a tag on his real brother so that he could find him in the crowd of clones.
It was around 11:30pm that Serena walked into his room, looking at Sam and then the television. "You realize that when you don't hang out with the others, you make them think that you don't like them."
Sam raised an eyebrow. "There's enough Winchester in that room to bring the world to it's knees. Missing one won't really make a difference."
"Yeah, but you should hear the things they say about you." Serana sat down next to Sam. "I swear, they gossip more than the girls at school did, and that is saying a lot."
"You have any examples you care to share?"
"Nope. You want to know, you have to come back and ask them yourself."
Sam leaned forward, dropping his voice down a bit in register. "What about if I torture you for information?" One hand slid up along her rib, a teasing tickle.
Serena tried not to laugh and pushed his hand away. "Dino won't let you torture me. The moment I cry for help, he'll have you backed up against a wall..."
"Oh really?" Sam smirked and flipped her over on the bed, pinning her to it while looking down at her with a very evil grin. "Of course, he'd have to get past the salt line. That's plenty of time to torture you." He started to tickle her again until Serena was screaming for him to stop over her laughter.
"Alright! Alright! They're talking about you having a cyberspace lover and how you have sex with your computer!" she said breathlessly.
Sam smirked and leaned down to kiss her on her forehead. "See, now that wasn't so bad. And rest assured, i do not have sex with my computer. That would be too messy, and after cleaning up after Dean that one time, I refuse to go through that again."
"What one time?" Serena asked, her eyes showing she was interested in getting some inside Dean gossip.
Sam licked his lips and smirked. Oh, Dean was going to kill him, but what the hell? It'll be fun seeing his reaction. "Well, this one time..."

"Ok Daddy you sit here an' Mister. Bum'kin is gonna sit here an' Missus Thumb is gonna sit here an'..."
"Olivia, sweetie..." Sam looked down at the chairs that were a part of his three year old daughter's tea party set. The chair backs barely came to his knees. "What are we doing?"
"We're 'avin' a tea party, Daddy! It's Mister Bum'kins birfday and Mama always says dat yer suppose ta 'ave a party!" Olivia gave her father the best puppy eyes she had inherited from him, the hazel bright with the blonde pigtails. "Now sit!"
Chuckling, Sam looked down at the chair and tried to figure out just how to do that. Finally he crossed his legs on the floor and propped his butt up into the chair so it looked like her was sitting and not kneeling.
"Ok, now evewyone puts on a hat!" She picked up a a little pile of cheap cone hats and put one on her teddy bear - Mister Bum'kin - and then on the baby doll - Missus Thumb, whose thumb had fallen off which earned her the name - and then she handed one to Sam. "Put it on, Daddy!"
There was a moment that Sam had a horrible flashback to a birthday party with three corpses in a bomb shelter as he looked at the hat. This won't hurt at all...
"Thank you. But I forgot a present for Mister Bum'kin."
"That's ok. Mama tol' me you doon know how ta buy good presen's anyway." Olivia put on her hat, then turned to get a tray of tea cups and cookies. Sam looked at them closer and realized that the cookies were actually dirt.
"Olivia..."
"Shhh, we gotta sing now. Hapby Birfday ta you... Hapby Birfday ta you..." She looked over at Sam with a pointed look that she got from Ruby, and Sam sighed and joined in on singing the birthday song. When it was done, Olivia clapped her hands and then handed out the dirt pies.
"I made yer pie special, Daddy," the little girl said with innocent eyes. "Extra yummy. Tell me if you like it."
Sam held the little pile of dirt and looked at his daughter. It was then that he realized she really did expect him to eat it. He gulped, then carefully lifted it to his nose and smelt it. "It smells really good, Olivia, but daddy isn't hungry right now..."
"You doon like it." She sat down in her chair and folded her arms in her little dress, the forced pout making him sigh.
"No, sweetie, I do. Daddy just had a big lunch..."
"Just one bite?"
Knowing there was no way for this to end good, Sam took a deep breath and closed his eyes, taking a very small, disgusting bite of the dirt pie. And at that exact moment, there was a bright flash of light.
Sam opened his eyes to see Ruby standing in the doorway, hip against the door frame as she lowered the camera. "Aw, now isn't this precious..."
"Ruby! You're not going to..."
"Scrapbook, Sam. These are the moments and all that junk." She smiled down at him, proud of the moment she had helped create and captured successfully on film. "I can't wait to show the rest of the family."
"You wouldn't dare!"
Olivia laughed and ran over to her Mama, squealing in excitement. "I did it, Mama! I got Daddy ta eat DIRT!"
Ruby reached down and picked their daughter up. "Yes you did, and Mama is very proud of you."
Sam just closed his eyes and leaned his head back as he sighed, and he swore he could hear Dean laughing.

It had been a long double shift that Jo had pulled that day, so coming home to a mess in the kitchen was not her idea of a warm welcome. The floor was covered in some kinda of white powder, footprints all through them, as well as paw prints. Who was chasing who, Jo didn't know, but she was sure going to find out.
Of course, neither boy nor puppy were anywhere to be found. A moment of fear gripped her and she knelt down to wipe her finger through the white powder before bringing it to her lips.
Just flour. Not that she doubted, but it was better to be safe than sorry. Slapping her hands a few times to get the powder off, she stood back up.
"Sam Winchester, you had better have a good explanation or else you're going to be joining Ford in the doghouse for a week! Stop hiding and get out here."
The second she finished her sentence, the lights went out in the kitchen. Jo's hand instantly went for her gun when she turned back towards the doorway and saw Sam standing there, holding a tray with a small, lopsided cake on it. His face was illuminated by a few candles that weren't standing sideways.
"What are you...?"
"Did you really think I was going to forget your birthday?" Sam grinned, the flickering light making his smile go from ear to ear.
"Is it really my birthday? I hadn't realized." She smiled, walking over to look at the cake, then Sam.
"Well, make a wish before I end up burning the kitchen down on top of the mess."
Jo smiled, then closed her eyes and made a wish before blowing out the candles. Her hand found the light switch and turned it back on, then watched as Sam went to the table with the cake. "Ok, we need plates, a knife and forks..."
Laughing, Jo joined him. "Sam, you try to cut that thing and it's just going to fall over."
"Well, I don't want it to go to waste. It took me three mixes to make one that actually was edible."
"Please tell me you at least bought the frosting," she asked as she swiped her finger along the side.
"I had too. I ran out of time."
Jo smiled, taking another swipe of the frosting and sucking it off her finger. She then looked at Sam and her grin turned mischievous as she tapped Sam's nose with a finger-full of icing.
"Hey!"
"Don't worry, I'll get it." She got up on her toes and kissed the frosting off his nose.
Sam wrinkled his nose, then took a swipe of frosting and ran it along her neck. Then he leaned down and kissed it away. Jo closed her eyes and moaned, melting against him.
"You brought enough frosting I hope?" she asked breathlessly as he pulled away.
Sam just gave her a small smirk. "I couldn't forget to include a present now, could I?"

Jul. 7th, 2009 06:33 pmYou asked for it, and I held out until now to make it double special. Enjoy :)
God he loved her. Anytime she was in the room, his eyes always left whatever he was doing to take her in. It didn't matter if she was coming in to yell at him for something, or just to walk in and pick up her book. He knew she worried she was that she looked huge, but she looked beautiful to her.
And she had been joking about how frustrated she was with all her hormones, so he decided to surprise her with a little bit of seduction. He waited until she left for a little bit of pampering at the spa - his suggestion - before slipping out to get to the spa as well.
He had gotten her a pregnancy massage at Elizabeth Arden's Red Door Salon down on Pennsylvania Avenue, but there was a twist. A very expensive twist that he had been training with Jacques for about a week to get it right.

"Shhhhh, don't wake her up..."
"Be careful Mikey..."
"Can I kiss her 'wake like a pwince?"
"No, stupid. That's Dad's job."
So much for the silent approach. Sam watched as Bela's eyes opened from the spot in the bed he had left her earlier that morning. Caught in the doorway, Michael held a tray of food while Sam held onto the youngest Talbot child that waved a crayon picture in the air. "Mommy's 'wake!" Sophia shouted, and realizing it was useless, Sam put her down.
The three year old was in the bed instantly, arms around Bela's neck as she kissed her cheek. "Happy Birthday Mommy! Look, I made you a pwincess and daddy is a pwince and I'm a fairwy and Michael's a big ugly fwog!"
"Hey, I'm not a frog!"
Sam moved quickly, grabbing the tray from his son as Michael jumped onto the bed and chased after his sister. He sat on the edge of the bed, leaning over to give her a quick kiss, and then put the tray on her lap. "Happy Birthday," he said.
"Thank you. For everything." She looked at the kids wrestling on the edge of the bed, then at the tray. Sam had taken care to make everything that she liked, the kids eating while he had cooked. Michael had helped him with the tray, and ran outside to pick a few flowers for the vase on the edge by her cup of coffee.
"Well, there's one last thing." He shifted a bit, pulling out a small package from his pocket and then held it out to her. "For you."
"You shouldn't have," she grinned though as she took the box, pulling the ribbon off and opening the box. Inside was a diamond ring - a small stone set in an antique band. There were two smaller colored gemstones on either end. She looked up at him in shock. "Sam?"
"Well, I was thinking the other day about how in all of this, the one thing I never got to give you was an actually engagement ring. Since well... you know." He smiled a bit. "I figured it was about time, and they had a setting which let me put in side stones." He pointed at them. "That one is Michael's birthstone, and this here is Sophia's."
Bela bit on her bottom lip, doing her best not to tear up as Sam took the ring out and slid it onto her finger. It matched the band set that they had picked out a few years ago when the Vegas rings started to tarnish. Sam then kissed her hand before letting it go.
"Thank you," she said softly, looking at the ring on her hand, then reaching over for Sam to give her another kiss. They did so until the Sophia's giggling separated them. Michael had his hands over his eyes and Sophia was smiling.
"Gross."
"It's pwetty!"
Sam looked over at the kids and shook his head. "Ok you two, Uncle Dean is going to be here in twenty minutes. You both need to go get dressed."
With excited shouts, the two kids crawled over to hug Bela and kiss her cheek before running for their rooms. Sam got up, fixing the tray so it was sitting better on Bela's lap. "Dean's going to take the kids to the zoo for a few hours. He says that the best gift he can give you is just to stay out of your hair for the day, and he's willing to give you a few hours of peace in the process."
"That's really generous of him," Bela laughed, sipping her coffee. "What about you, Prince Charming?"
"Well, I need to clean up the mess in the kitchen, then after that, I'm all yours."
Bela smiled around the rim of her cup as she watched Sam leave to start cleaning up, thinking just of all the things she and Sam could do to celebrate her birthday while the kids were away. This was looking to be a wonderful day after all.
