"Actually, after last week, you might already be on that list," Sam smirked and pulled away a bit, showing her back towards the bedroom to see what he had done there.
"And what happens if you only have one present. Then you'll have nothing for Christmas Day."
He opened the bedroom door and Sam had changed the sheets and made the bed. The twinkly lights continued in the room, giving a soft glow as opposed the the harsh bulb from the overhead light. There were little snowflake stickups on their mirror and on the windows, and there was a little candy dish with candy canes on her side of the bed, and kisses on his side. He was notorious on munching while reading in bed, and thought she would like the candy canes.
There was also a big white teddy bear sitting in the center of the bed, wrapped in a bow and holding a box in it's hand that was also gift wrapped.
He took a deep, happy breath and just hugged her back, resting his head on top of hers. Because she was the best present he ever got, and nothing could ever top that.
She made an excited noise, much like a little kid one then grabbed his hand and started dragging him back towards the kitchen. "Come on then, let's eat!"
He laughed and let her drag him back through the apartment to the kitchen which had two plastic Christmas place mats on the table and a little ceramic gingerbread house on it. He sat her down, then reached into the oven and pulled out the rotisserie chicken and sides that he had gotten at the supermarket and put in their dishes to make it look like he had cooked - which Sam was still very hit and miss on.
"So we have chicken, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and green beans." He also grabbed the loaf of bread and the gravy bowl, putting it all in reach of the both of them. "And there is dessert in the fridge for later."
His appetite had come back in the last month since just before thanksgiving, so if Jo didn't move quickly, Sam would be finishing most of the food on the table. He was even starting to get a soft little belly from so much good food.

"Oh Sam..."
It looked so nice and the effort he went to, she couldn't believe anyone would ever do something like this for her just to make her smile.
