Sam hoped Jo would be cheered up after a hard day of work to find the entire apartment covered in white twinkly lights as he had decorated all day to give a soft glow to their first Christmas together.

"I'm not going to laugh."

"Well, at least we know I don't suck now," he said softly, leaning down to kiss her gently.

She smiled against his lips. "You don't suck now."

"But I might later if you're good," he teased.

"I can be very good, Sam. Very good."

"I know you can." He kissed her again. "I know."

She spent a good long moment kissing him. It was just too good to pull away.

He wasn't going to be complaining, just enjoying her lips against hers and feeling the love there.
