It was the afternoon after Sam had spent the day with Nellie, and now he was waiting for Bobby to meet him for lunch.

He had been replying the events of the day before in his head, and he had come to a sad revelation: maybe Nellie was over her mother's death. Maybe she didn't need to talk, like he had felt she had to. Maybe... he was portraying his own issues through her and that's why he had been so adamant for her to talk to him.

He would apologize the next time he saw her. If he saw her. He was leaving that in her hands because he didn't want her to be uncomfortable.

But he might just be brooding while he leaned against the column in the hotel lobby, lost in thought.

Bobby's head popped up at that. "They are?"

"Really?" Dean perked up slightly at that too. Because either Sam was pulling his leg, or Dean really had to pay better attention.

He looked back and forth between the two of them. "Am I the only one who's actually taken time to walk around town and just look at the scenery?"

"If that's the scenery, I'm all in," Bobby nodded.

Dean just laughed. "I've been at that beach. That is the scenery."

And you wonder why Sam chose a drink with actual liquor in it.

"Why do I have a bad feeling I'm going to be bailing you two out of jail in the near future?"

Bobby rolled his eyes. "Like we'd get caught." Maybe Tijuana really was relaxing him.

"Exactly," Dean grinned. "I mean, c'mon Sammy -- you know us better than that."

"Yeah I do. But this is scaring me. Or scarring me. For life." Maybe he could change to tequila...

"You brought it up," Bobby reminded him, finishing off his beer and signaling for another. Damn he was thirsty.

"Bobby's got a point there, Sammy," Dean replied, before starting to poke at the chips and salsa."

Sam just shook his head. "So are we going to stay here through the holidays, or just for a week?"

Because Sam kinda wanted to let Nellie know how long she had him there in case she needed to talk to him. Or "talk".

Bobby looked between the boys and shrugged. "Depends if ya want a white Christmas or not. It's probably snowin' back up at the house." And he wasn't so sure he wanted to stay in Tijuana too long. He wasn't used to being on a "vacation" for that long.

Dean shrugged slightly before popping one of the chips in his mouth. "I say we stay down here until we can't stand it any more. I don't know about you, but I can live with relaxing for as long as possible."

"We relax too long, we might not go back." Sam stated, leaning back as he finished his drink and ordered a beer with a tequila shot.

Dean was about to say something about how not going back might not be such a bad thing, then he shrugged. "Whatever you wanna do, Sammy. I was just saying that I'm not picky."

"Guess we can just take it as each day goes by."

Sam downed his shot. "Oh, Bobby, I talked to Nellie. She's doing alright."

Bobby's eyes shot up. "Did ya? How's she doin'?"

Dean glanced between Sam and Bobby for a moment, before frowning slightly. "Am I missing something?"

"When isn't that new?" he looked at Dean.

He turned more towards Bobby. "I think because she was young, she has dealt with it. I probably didn't help because I wanted her to talk and brought it back up, but she's actually handling it well."

He nodded slowly and started on his new beer. "Wouldn't know," he shrugged. "But...she was a kid. Doubt she's dealt with it any better than either of you."

Dean paused for a minute, listening to the conversation, before picking up his beer bottle as he spoke again.

"You know, when a person asks if he's missing something? It's usually a clue for the rest of the people in the conversation to tell him what he's missing. Just saying."

Sam just looked at Bobby and nodded his head at him. After all, it was Bobby's story to tell.

Bobby just shrugged. "I know her mother," he said simply. "It was a hunt and she died." He left it all simple. He had to. Simple was easier.
