Reach out and Touch Someone
ooc: Goes hand in hand with this prompt. Evie is
a_badapple. Co-Written with Mun.
Evie wasn't sure how she had ended up in the town she was in. At least not much beyond the part where she pulled off the highway for lunch and ended up there. She had looked around the town and decided it wouldn't be a bad place to duck down in for a few weeks. She needed to earn some extra cash, especially if she wanted to avoid asking her family for anything.
So she found herself work at a nearby gas station and roughed it out in her car. No, it wasn't a dream, but it worked.
And it had been a long, draining day at the gas station. She had started to take her car somewhere to park for the night and get some sleep, but decided she really didn't want to. She was suddenly itching to be out. Maybe something would strike this time around. She had been letting herself be open to meeting a guy in the towns she stopped through, but there really hadn't been one that felt right. It wasn't exactly easy for her. What with the fact that she hadn't had sex in almost three years, and she could hardly remember sex sober. At least...she didn't think she'd had sex in the years since Dougie's death. Some of those days were blurred pretty badly in her head.
Sam watched her a moment after Castiel had pointed her out, and then he smile and walked over to the blonde at the jukebox. Castiel had said she had a good soul, and that alone made him curious. "So, it there anything in there sung by someone not wearing a mullet?" he asked, giving her a small smile.
Evie glanced up at him and smirked. "I'm not sure there's anything after Johnny Cash's wild days."
"It's like that's all you ever find in jukeboxes. You'd think there would at least be something from the late 80's in one of them." He liked her smirk. "Hi, I'm Sam."
"That or the Waffle House songs," she said dryly. She nodded and glanced at him again. "Evie."
"That's a different name. Pretty." He looked around at the bar. "Are you here with friends?"
She shook her head. "Don't really know anyone around this town. The people kinda blow."
Sam laughed a bit. "Yeah, it's got that small town charm of not trusting people who weren't born and raised in the area."
Evie snorted. "Trust me, I get enough of that back home." She thought for a moment. "Maybe that's why I gravitated here...."
"I grew up on the road," Sam shrugged. "Never had a community to hate me."
She raised a brow. "More than welcome to trade with me."
"Trust me, my life? Not worth the trade." He smiled. "Can I get you a drink?"
Mine either she thought. She looked down to the beer in her hand and held it up with another smirk. "Thought you were supposed to pay attention to a girl when you hit on her."
He rubbed the back of his neck. "I was paying attention, but more to your words and face than what you had in your hands."
This got a smile out of her. It was a small smile, her lips curling up just slightly, but it was a feat on its own. "Nice reply," she nodded. She took a sip of her beer.
He smile got one of his in return. "As long as it works," he chuckled a bit. "I think this might be one of the few times I haven't fallen flat on my face in the first ten seconds."
She shrugged. "Hey, I'd rather see you fall flat on your face than grab my ass. Then I'd have to slap you or something and...I'm too chill to bother right now."
"Be grateful then that it's me talking to you and not my brother."
"I'll remember to mention that on Thanksgiving."
"You're already planning future holidays with my family?" Sam smirked playfully. "But we've only just met."
Evie shook her head, smirking back. "There is no getting out of the holidays with my family, so it wouldn't even come to that."
"I just have a brother. Give him a pie and he'll behave."
"Sounds like my brother, Avery," she chuckled.
"Then they'll get along fine." Sam tiled his head, looking her over a bit. "So what are you runnin' from that brought you here?" Because she really didn't look much like the others who Sam knew from visiting Bobby's enough that they were locals.
Evie bit down on her lip and sighed deeply. "I prefer to see it as... looking... while moving at a quick pace." She smirked and her brows raised to him slightly. "And the what is a very long story."
"Long enough to warrant going someplace a bit more relaxing and not so smokey, or a few more drinks long enough?"
She thought this over, looking him over as well, and shrugged. "We can go somewhere else, but I can't promise a story."
"We can talk about other things." Or not talk at all. Sam really wasn't that picky on what they did, just as long as whatever it was, it was with her. He could see there was more to her and that held his curiosity.
Evie nodded. She knew she wouldn't be saying much of anything about her story, but she wouldn't mind hanging out with him some more. He seemed like an all around nice guy, and good looking to boot. These weren't the type of guys she usually got to spend time with. "Anywhere you want to go?"
"We could go for a drive?" He held up his brother's car keys. Sam wasn't even near his tolerance limit, low as it was. "Or find a place? I think the diner's open, or I can get us a room at the motel across the street?"
She raised a brow and smirked, making an obvious show of checking him out up and down. "Already suggesting a room, huh?"
"It was the last of the three choices," he pointed out, shrugging his shoulders innocently.
"Uh huh." She stepped up to him and took his beer away, setting it down to a table beside her. "So let's go with door number three."
He smiled at her, letting her take the beer easily and nodded. "Alright. Let me just let my friend know I'm heading out and I'll find him eventually." Hopefully tomorrow. He motioned over at where Castiel was being double-teamed by two older women.
Evie nodded. "Okay. I'll be here."
It only took a moment for Sam to tell Cas he was leaving, wishing him luck and offering no rescue to the angel as Sam returned and offered to wrap his arm around her shoulder. "So where are you staying, anyway?"
She pointed her thumb to the parking lot. "My car."
He looked at the car and winced. He knew what it was like spending nights sleeping in cars like that. "Well, let me at least treat you to a bed for the night. And no strings, just, it's not fun trying to sleep in a car and it's the least I could do."
"I don't need sympathy," she said quietly, shaking her head.
Sam looked at her. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean it like that."
"It's fine, I'm just...saying. I don't like it." Her hands twisted together in front of herself, and she was cursing herself to shut up before she turned him off.
"Alright. I'll remember that." He looked at her car and then the Impala. "Do you want to drive over. Not sure I want to leave my car over here overnight..." His brother would castrate him.
She nodded. "Mine will be fine here." Her old hatchback had seen far better days.
He pointed at his brother's car and shrugged. "Well, I'll drive us both over then." He walked her over and opened the passenger door for her.
Her brows rose and she looked the Impala over. "Damn... nice ride."
"Thanks. She belonged to my Dad." Sorry, Dean. Sam was using your car to pick up girls for himself.
Her fingers ran against the car gently. "You take good care of her."
"I believe that you should always take care of the things that mean the most to you." He gave her a small smile. "There isn't a lot of things a person can have that has a lot of history and love in it like this."
"That's something to admire in someone," she nodded. She walked for the passenger side and pulled the door open. "Take good care of everything?" She smirked, raising a brow.
"Only the things that matter," he gave her a grin back.
"Like..."
Sam just gave her a grin, not answering as he walked around to the driver's side and got in. It wasn't that he didn't know how to answer it, but the fact that the list was pretty small these days as the people on it kept slipping through his fingers. "Family. Friends. The kind of things that should always matter."
She nodded. Friends... not so much, but family. "Family's important."
"That it is." Starting up the car, he made his way across the street to the motel. "Especially when you only has a few people left."
"Guess I should consider myself lucky there. Family will never be few."
"Come from a big family then?"
"Yup. Four sister and three brothers."
"Wow." Sam was amazed. "I don't think I could handle that. How did you handle that growing up?"
"You learn to adapt," she shrugged. "Sometimes there was more of us."
"Huh." They pulled into the motel's parking lot and he parked near the office. "I'll be right back..." he said, opening the door with a small smile.
"Kay," she nodded, leaning back in her seat.
Sam was quick in the office, reserving a room for the night. He looked over his shoulder at Evie, sucking on his lower lip. He wasn't a one night stand person, and he remembered why. He liked to talk to people; get to know them. One night stands are basically all about the physicality. Dean did it easily where he barely got names before getting the girl back to his room. Now he knew just enough about Evie that he was trying not to feel awkward in remembering this was supposed to just be about a night of physical pleasure.
He was starting to like her. And if this wasn't supposed to be what it was... he'd want to take her on a real date. Get to really know her.
Taking the key offered, he walked back over to the car and opened the passenger door. "We're actually right in that room -" He pointed at the door three down from the office. "So we can stay parked here."
"Works for me," she nodded. She climbed out of the car and tucked her hair behind her ear as she moved up towards the sidewalk. Truthfully, she was a lot more nervous than she was letting herself seem. So nervous that a piece of her wanted to turn and run. She kind of wanted to warn Sam that it had been a really really long time since she'd gotten laid, but she worried that'd make him change his mind, so she said nothing.
Seeing that it was a bit cold, he wrapped an arm around her waist and walked with her to the room. As he went to open the door, he stopped, then licked his lips. "Listen... if you want to back out, you just gotta tell me, ok?" His own nerves was starting to get at him.
Evie tried to relax under his arm. It wasn't against him, she just hadn't had much personal touch in recent years. She looked up at him. "It's..it's not that. It's just...been awhile. A very long while."
Sam nodded, his eyes showing he understood. "It's been awhile for me too, but I would like to still. We can go slow, if that makes you feel better. And if you want to stop, just tell me."
She nodded, and when they got to the door she stopped to reach up on her toes and kiss him gently. She wanted to show him she was still game.
He smiled and closed his eyes, kissing her back as he opened the door. Gently, Sam led her inside and closed the door behind them, then leaned her against it and kept kissing her, has hands coming up to cup her cheeks.
She let her arms slide up and around his shoulders, just keeping the kiss slow.
Slow was good. Sam was comfortable with slow, and he kept that pace and didn't speed up, but he did deepen the kiss and pull himself just a bit closer to her.
She went with him, holding on and following his lead.
He kissed her for a few more moments, then pulled back and gave her a small smile. "Why don't we get comfortable? I mean, there's a whole room, right?"
Evie smirked and ran her hands against his shoulders. "Really? You should show me."
His smile grew a bit and he took her hand, bringing her further into the room before gently taking her jacket off her and putting it on the chair. "They only have king sized beds. I figured you would like the space to stretch out." He took his jacket off as well, putting it on the table.
"Considerate," she said, leaning up to nip at his lips softly.
He gave a soft groan and closed his eyes, his hands running up her ribs gently as he leaned down to kiss her again. He gently led her to the bed, sitting them both down on the edge of the mattress carefully.
She let him lead her, settling down beside him.
Kissing her like that for a bit, he slowly shifted to pull her up along the bed further, and then laid her down next to him. His lips trailed away from hers and along her neck as his hands slid up her stomach on top of her shirt, feeling along her curves.
She sighed, leaning up to his touch and letting her fingers move through his hair.
Fingers moved over the fabric covering her breasts and he gave a soft caress before sliding back down her stomach. This time he slipped his fingers under her shirt and along her skin, feeling the warmth of the skin on her stomach, and he went back to kissing her lips as his hand cupped her breast.
She moaned softly, her hands tightening in his hair. It really did feel different sober.
It was different. He was so used to Ruby for so long. A way to release frustration, anger, and just pure lust that still upset him at times. She used it as a way to release the darker demon inside of him, and he had been hesitant to do this again. But he wasn't angry now. He was relaxed, a bit nervous and awkward, but not the way he had been with her. He wanted to enjoy this. Make Evie enjoy this.
His hands kept moving up until they found her bra strap and released it, then let his hand cup flesh as his thumb played with her hardening nipple. "You know, eventually I'm going to need you to take this off," he whispered into her ear as he nibbled on it gently.
"Mmmm," she murmured. Her hands moved down his back and she pushed up against him. "You can't do it?"
"I can, but I can't guarantee that it'll be in one piece when I'm one," he said with a smirk, then closed his eyes as he felt her press up against him.
"Then you'd hafta buy me new clothes," she murmured, leaning her lips against his cheek. Her hands moved down against his hips. "Only have so many with me."
"Might be worth it." His breath hitched and he unconsciously pushed down against her as his hands worked to pull her shirt off, the bra quickly following and getting tossed somewhere to the side of the bed. He looked down at her a moment, then turned his head to kiss her neck as his hand went back to caressing her breast before lowering his head further to take that nipple into his waiting mouth.
She moaned again, her head falling back, and her fingers dug into his side.
He went from one breast to the other, taking his time and savoring each one as he listened to her moan. Then slowly his hand slid down her stomach, playing with the edge of her jeans before he unbuttoned and unzipped them so he could slip his hand inside.
She caught her lip between her teeth and closed her eyes. She didn't have very impressive nails, but what she had slid up his back under his shirt.
A hiss escaped his lips, but he could tell she liked it. He moved his hand further until his fingers pushed away fabric to find flesh and slickness.
Her arms wrapped around him and she held on tight as he moved against her. Everything started to swirl around her as she remembered, this is how it's supposed to feel. As it had been awhile for her, it didn't take long for the spinning to escalate, and she held out as long as she could before falling back beneath him. Her fingers pushed her hair of her forehead as she tried regaining her breath.
Sam held himself up on his arms so that he didn't collapse down on top of her. He was panting hard, knowing that his skin was wet from sweat. God he had missed that. That was how it was supposed to feel like. He could remember that now. Opening his eyes, he looked down at her and gave her a small smile. "You're amazing," he told her between pants.
She gave him a half-smile back, unconvinced. "Like riding a bike, I guess." She shifted a bit from under him so he could lay down. "You weren't so bad yourself."
"I guess so." He shifted to the side, not wanting to lose that touch with her but instead went to her side so he could wrap her up in his arms and kissed her shoulder. "It's been way too long. I almost forgot how good that could feel like."
Evie wasn't the biggest touchy-feely person, but she wasn't shoving him away. Instead she leaned on her side a bit more, facing him, and getting a bit of breathing room. "Like free-falling," she said softly. "Complete freedom."
"Yeah." Sam was a touchy-feely person though. It reminded him of what was real and what wasn't. "Too bad we don't have the freedom to just stay like this forever and forget the world on the other side of the door."
She smirked. "I'm told blocking myself off from the world is unhealthy...though I'm not so sure it would be this way."
He laughed at that, pushing some of the hair she had missed behind her ear. "Probably not, but it doesn't mean it's not worth trying." Though Sam knew his brother would eventually find him and remind him that there were things going on right now more important than what they wanted. Or he'd at least come to reclaim the Impala.
"Mmmm." She stretched her legs and her arms. "That's all I need. To become a sex-aholic." She knew she wouldn't be able to hide long either. She was certain she already had at least four messages from various family on her phone by that point.
"We don't have to do just that," he said, smiling a bit. "We have to eat at some point, and there's a television..."
She stretched her body more, leaning on her back a bit and brushing her foot against his leg. "You'd really want to watch TV?" When he had all of this to watch instead.
His hand slid down to gently run along her ribs to her hip. "There's nothing really good on anyway."
"Smart man," she laughed, her eyes getting heavy.
"It's late. We should get some rest so we can have more energy in the morning." He leaned over to give her a gentle kiss, not sure how they were going to arrange themselves on the bed since she was showing that she wasn't a cuddling type.
She kissed him back lightly, then pulled the covers up. Her body was angled more towards him, but she still left some space. A smile came to her lips slowly and she reached for his hand, letting arm drop against her hip lightly. She would handle a little bit of touch. "I won't bite. At least...not while we sleep."
"Something to look forward to when we wake up then," he teased, closing his eyes and shifting his head to a more comfortable position on the pillow.
Evie went quiet, and before long she was drifting off to sleep.
It was the sun peeking through the curtains that made Sam's eyes twitch and start to pull him out from sleep. He groaned and his arms tightened around the warm body next to him, and instinct made him pull closer to keep warm.
She was still out to the world, so she didn't fight at his pull. Her body just rolled against his like dead weight.
It was a few minutes later when he opened his eyes and remembered exactly where he was and what had happened the night before. He looked down at Evie and smiled before kissing the top of her head while she slept.
Evie stirred a bit at that, and blinked her eyes open. Her hand came up to shield herself from the sunlight.
"Morning," Sam's gravely morning voice greeted her and he shifted them both a bit so that the sunlight was no longer in her face while they lay there. "Sleep well?"
"Yeah," she nodded. "Haven't slept that hard in a long time."
"I'm glad. I probably haven't been this relaxed in months. Feels nice." His smile was lazy as he watched her.
She leaned herself up on her arms, her stomach on the bed. "I should probably go find my car soon."
He rolled onto his back and looked up at her, his hand running along her arm. "Sure you want to leave so soon? I thought we were going to try to hide from the world."
"The world will still be there when we emerge," she said. "As much as I'd like to believe otherwise."
"It can wait." His eyes gave her that puppy look his brother always made fun of. "Just a few hours?"
She smirked and pretended to think it over for a bit. "Promise to make it worth my while?"
He didn't answer that, just flexed his abs enough to sit up so he could cup her cheek and kiss her to remind her just of how well he had performed the night before.
Evie laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down close.
Sam grinned into the kiss and was playful in his ministrations this time, making sure she enjoyed spending the extra time with him. This was so nice, and he really didn't want to leave this moment. He felt so much like how he used to be. There was no war here. All the pressure and anger was gone and for the first time in a long time he actually felt like himself again. He missed these kind of moments and this part of himself. His touches were gentler than the intensity of last night, and he took his time to give her something to really remember and didn't stop until they were both spent and he was panting for breath with a smile on his lips.
"So, did I keep my promise?" he asked in a teasing voice, turning his head to look at her.
"Mmmmhmmm," she murmured. "You're making me not want to get up."
"Well, that is my ulterior motive," he teased. "Make you never want to leave."
"But I have to." She sat up a bit.
Nodding, Sam sighed. "Yeah, I know. I've probably kept you longer than you originally had planned."
"You did. You and your distracting body."
"Well, it's been a good body for the most part. That's why I keep it." Sam smirked a bit. He looked over at hers. "Not that your body isn't as innocent here." His fingers ran along her arm.
"Hey, hey, don't start that again." She gave him a look, but was smirking as she moved to get up.
He sighed in defeat and just stayed on his back, lacing his fingers behind his head, but this time not trying to stop her. "It was worth a try."
She got her clothes on and sat down to slide into her shoes. She then grabbed the motel pen and paper and jotted her cell phone number down, before handing it to him. "Sometimes it gets shut off, but if you leave a message I'll get it before long."
Sitting up, Sam took the number and held out his hand for the pad and pen. "Are usually in this area? I come through a lot."
She shrugged, not looking at him as she busied herself with getting ready to go. "Not always. Just kinda...here and there."
He wrote his number down and handed it over to her. "Well, maybe we can get lucky to both be in the same place again at the same time. I'd like that, even if it's just to talk."
Evie took it and nodded. "Yeah, me too." She gave him a smile from the doorway. "I'll see you around, Sam."
"See you, Evie." He gave her a smile, sitting up against the headboard more. His mind was already starting to decide on if he was going to go back to Bobby's right away now or just stay here and relax for a few more hours.
Evie just let herself out, closing the door behind herself.
