Sam was gone the moment he knew Bobby was on the phone with Dean. It could only end one way - Dean would come to Bobby's to get him. Bobby knew how to keep a demon captive. Sam wasn't stupid. Dean would tell Bobby to make sure Sam didn't leave and Bobby would do it so Sam had to leave now before Dean said that.

He kept moving, not sure where to go, but he always found trees that would support him as he sat in them and tried to think of what he could do to keep himself from being caught. But he didn't stay still long because Dean was a good hunter and Sam knew that Dean would find him eventually but he wanted it to be a long time eventually so Dean wouldn't be as mad as he had to be now.

One of the trees he ended up in was in the middle of Texas, and Sam was leaning in it when he saw a woman with blonde hair go by. He tilted his head, then got out of the tree and started to follow her through the streets. When he got close enough, he got to look at her face, but it wasn't who he thought it was and backed away before the woman could yell at him and hit him with her bag.

He kept looking, feeling that he knew she was somewhere close by, and so he started to think about her in his head, and he saw a house in his mind and so he went to find it and soon was standing at the front door and knocked. He rubbed his arm nervously, not sure if Nellie lived here but he saw the house and it felt like she did. He hoped she did.

Nellie had been curled up on the couch watching a movie and jumped up for the door. She had ordered Chinese and was very hungry. She grabbed her purse and whipped the door open, then froze. She took a step back, frowning slightly at Sam.

He didn't look well.

"Sam?" She asked softly.

"You do live here," he said softly, looking at her. He was hesitant to come closer, but he needed someone to want him around and not tell Dean where he was.

"'course," she nodded. Her arms wrapped around herself tightly and she stepped aside. "It's gettin' chilly. Come in."

He nodded and moved in, his eyes looking around to see everything and make sure there were no traps or something that might hurt him. "If you are not wanting me here, just tell me. I didn't know I was coming here until I was."

"No...no, it's fine," she hook her head, pushing the door shut behind him. She leaned against it, easier for looking up at the tall man. "Sam...what's wrong?"

"I... I did something wrong and my brother is mad at me." He bit his lip and looked at her with that lost puppy look. "I've been just trying to find places to stay so he doesn't find me."

Nellie hugged herself and watched him. She sighed. "Well, he already doesn't like me. You might as well stay and give him more reason not to." She watched him a moment longer, then nodded. "You're welcome here. As long as you need to stay."

"I don't want you getting in trouble with him." Sam was afraid to tell her not to be nice to him because he was a bad thing, but he wanted to have a friend and Nellie was his only friend now.

"If I stay in one place too long, he will find me. I need to keep moving. But maybe for a bit if you don't mind."

She stepped forward and set a hand to his arm. "You hungry? Tired?"

His body was cold from being outside for a long time, but he didn't notice it too much. He shook his head slowly. "Not really. Just lonely."

"Well...I was watchin' a movie. Waitin' on some dinner. You wanna join me?"

"Ok." He managed a small smile to her before moving to follow her further into the house.

She pulled him to the living room where she had Homeward Bound on pause.

"But you're not allowed to make fun'a my movie choices. Go ahead, sit down."

"I won't make fun. I like all different kind of movies." He went to sit on the couch, keeping himself small so he wouldn't be in the way.

"Is this the one with the talking dog?"

Nellie grinned and sat down beside him, curling herself up and pulling the blanket over her legs. "Two talking dogs, and a talking cat."

"I watched this once. I like the hyper dog that sounds like a fox."

She laughed slightly. "I like the cat. She's spoiled like me."

"She complains too much," Sam said, wrinkling his nose.

Nellie bit her lip and looked at him. "Yeah, but then at the end you see that she loves her friends and will take care of them when they need her."

"Because she still loves her family."

"Yeah," Nellie nodded. "She does."

Sam was quiet for a moment. "Will family always love you, even if you are a bad thing?"

Nellie frowned and looked over at him. "What do y'mean, darlin'?"

"I did bad things, and I think my brother hates me now."

Nellie sighed and set a hand to his shoulder gently. "Your brother isn't gonna hate you, Sam."
