The Vegas Job [for
nerdherdchuck]
ooc: takes place a few days after this
Sam was sitting at a bar at the Mirage, w glass of whiskey in his hand as he swirled it around. One drink was all he allowed himself to have while he was on a job, and he planned on making this one last.
He had been in Vegas for a day now, and while he had gotten a good lay of the land as well as staked out a few of the supposed drop points, Sam had yet to find his contact. Supposedly this guy was a special agent from another government division, one who would be able to help him and had special knowledge of the party that KAOS was trying to sell the object to.
Of course Sam had no idea who he was waiting for. Just told that the guy coming to find him would recognize him for who he was, and leave it at that. Which left Sam sitting at the bar, alone, sipping his whiskey and waiting.
And hoping that his partner for this mission was someone he could get along with last time. Last time the chief sent him on a mission with another government agency, he had gotten some crackpot burnt-out NSA agent who loved his guns a bit more than the safety of his partner.

he stopped a moment, putting a hand up to keep Chuck from moving as well. His eyes scanned the people moving around them. His 'demon' sense just spiked a bit, and he was trying to find out who it was.

"And three? They really hate it when people say the word Christo."
At that moment, two men in business suits a few feet from them that had been making their way over hissed at them, wincing as their eyes flashed black.

"Now, when you say they don't like the word 'Christo' do you mean it weakens them or it pisses them off and they attack you?"
no subject
"Well, first time it's said, just gets their attention. Second time... kinda pisses them off." Sam took a step back. "Right now we should find a place off the main streets before they get to us. Come on..."

When Sam suggested finding a safer spot, Chuck nodded and followed Sam.

The demons passed by, and Sam got up, cocking back the hammer on his gun. "Alright guys, let's cut to the chase here." He looked at Chuck. "This guy's got some questions for you, and you're gonna answer them."
"And what if we don't?" the demon on the left asked.
Sam raised an eyebrow and shot off a round. The demon screamed at the salt and holy water that came from the bullet and penetrated his skin. Black eyes glared back up at him.
"Chuck, I think they'll cooperate now."

He glared at the demon suspect. "Who's your contact?"
The demon glared back at Chuck for a moment then over at Sam. He then looked back at Chuck and answered, "Goes by a codename, Corvus."
Chuck found himself slip into a trance-like state as a file loaded of a middle aged Fulcrum scientist, Marcus Cornwell. When he snapped back to reality, he continued his questioning. "Where and when?"
"At Paris, the Eiffel Tower observation deck at midnight."
Chuck stepped back to Sam and whispered. "I know he's telling the truth about who his contact is. As for where and when, I think so."

Sam handed the gun to Chuck, then held a hand out. Both demons were pinned to the wall instantly. "Now to keep them from going back to telling their boss we're onto them."
no subject
Chuck looked over at one of the demons. "Does Marcus know who he's looking for? Or was he only given some sort of code to say to the one he was supposed to meet?"

Sam smirked. "You lie to him, you won't have to worry about going back to Hell..." It was obvious that there was a lot of distaste in Sam's voice.

He wasn't about to freak Chuck out with his normal method.
Halfway through, one of the demons screamed. "WAIT! Ok, ok. You want to know where the contact is, I'll tell you but please stop."
"You betray him, he'll do worse than this," the other demon growled.
"If he can find me." The demon looked at Sam, then Chuck. "Deal?"

He thought for a moment before saying, "Fine. Deal."

Leaning forward, he whispered the exorcism into his ear, and soon the demon was gone and Sam was checking over the human left behind. he sighed in relief. "He's alive. We can leave him in a casino lobby as our new friend shows us where we're going."

He led them away from the strip to a crappy motel. They stood in the shadows as the demon pointed to a room. "The guy in there is the one who found this thing. He doesn't have it on him, but he hid it. You want to find it, you need him."
no subject
He turned back towards the demon. "What do you know about that man? Anything?"
no subject
Sam rolled his eyes. "What's his name?"
"Miko. Miko Talert."
