In the arms of an Angel... fly away, from here...
ooc: follows this
It was a small chapel that Sam had built into the building for those hunters who had strong faith. Over the years of working with the Angels, the doubt their first appearance had caused in him eased up. Castiel and Sam had become partners of sorts, esecially after Dean's death.
Uriel was not happy, but Sam had never cared much for Uriel's opinion in the grand scheme of things.
The creation of the Initiative had been something that Castiel had helped iron out kinks in on the advice of God. It was interesting how God had come to see the good that some demons could accomplish. There was even chance for some of them to be redeemed, and if so Castiel would help them to their final resting place in peace.
It was much better than just killing them all. Something that Sam felt good, because not only was he saving people now, but ones who had been lost in death and brought back to the light. A new level of the family business, and Sam hoped his family was proud of him for it.
He sat quietly in the pew, praying for a few minutes, and when Castiel didn't appear, he just opened the Bible in front of him and started to read. The angel would answer when he had time, and being Immortal... Sam had time.

Dean just grinned, before looking over at Tessa. "You're busted. You're going to have to let him see me now."
Tessa shook her head slightly. "What did I say about you being grounded? If he has to see anyone, he'll see me."
Dean looked at her for a minute, before starting to sulk. "You all friggin' suck."

And part of him wondered if Dean was one of them.

Within a few minutes, she was solid, and she gave him a slight smirk before responding. "Hi, Sam."
no subject
"Hello, Tessa. It's been awhile."

He had shifted so that he was sitting sideways in the pew, one arm across the back and was just staring at her, waiting very patiently for her to crack.
"Wish I could say the same for your brother."
no subject
200 years, Sam had been without his brother, but he was still on his mind every day. A presence like Dean in anyone's life was one that never truly left, and having someone be able to tell him something new made him feel like he was back in that time, where Dean was alive and their world was much less complicated.
"Well, I had to deal with him for sixty years before you. I can only imagine what he's done now that he doesn't have the limitations of behind human."
no subject
"Awww, Tessa. I always knew you liked me," Dean said with a grin, resting his chin in his hand now and still continuing to stare at her.

"I'm glad to know he's still finding a way to be useful. Only Dean would get bored in heaven."
no subject
"I was surprised that they actually let him take this gig, to be honest," Tessa sighed. "Usually reaping is given to souls in purgatory, looking to earn their penance. Occasionally those souls stick around once their trial is through, but most of them are ready to head on to their eternal rest."

There was a very small part of Sam that would continue to ask question after question because he was still a research nerd at heart. it wasn't often he was able to learn about something he didn't know the first thing about.
no subject
"Apparently it was where he felt most comfortable," Tessa nodded once she was finished, settling one arm on the pew behind her and resting the back of her head against it.

Sam made to stand up, looking a bit whistful. He knew he could stay and keep asking questions, but he knew he should get downstairs to find Ruby and check on Michael.
"Tell him I miss him. And even if it's breaking the rules, maybe one day he could come and say hello. I'd like that, and Michael probably would like to express his thanks as well."

"I'll be in touch. Thank you."

"It was good seeing you, Sam," she nodded. "Take care."

Sam reached down to pick his Bible up off the pew, pausing for a moment.
"Tessa... do you know if Dean approves of what I've been doing?" He didn't look at her, but his voice was soft, young and just needing to know what Dean thought. It was something he had been curious of for so long, and he might be able to get an actual answer now.

Tessa gave him a look that said passive aggressive tactics weren't going to get him anywhere, before she nodded. "Yeah, Sam. He is."
no subject
He turned to leave, walking straight through Dean and then paused, catching his breath. He had a moment of being cold, his hair standing on end as it tingled. Then he just smiled to himself and kept going to head to the medical ward.

Tessa just smirked back at him, before shaking her head. "C'mon, idiot. We got a call to do."
