Phone Calls to Friends

ooc: demon!Sam

Alec and Dean were on a hunt. They were always on a hunt. And Sam was behind on the bed watching some TV show he didn't understand and was kinda crude. Bored, he reached over for his phone, playing through the functions to find something to do.

He opened the address book up and there were a few contacts in there. Dean put the contacts in so Sam would have people to call when he was in trouble. Alec. Bobby. Dean. Missouri.

And then there was one he had put in himself. Nellie. He hadn't talked to Nellie since she had left the diner and it had not been a bad going away. It was just a going away.

Wondering what she was doing, he decided to call her and say hello. It was something to do that wasn't a stupid tv show.

She smiled at the sound of his voice and chuckled a bit. "Of course I remember you, Sam. How are you?"

"I'm good!" She would be able to hear the smile on his face as it got bigger. "I'm in a hotel room with a really bad tv show on. And I'm bored and saw you in my phone and thought I would say hello."

She couldn't help herself but grin wider. "What do y'know, I"m watchin' bad tv, too. Where are Dean and Alec?"

"Working. They go to work and leave me here. And it's soo boring sometimes." He turned the TV off. "We're in Kentucky. Where are you?"

"Aww, I'm sorry you're bored, darlin'. I'm home in Austin right now."

"That's where you are from, right?" He was trying to remember it.

"Yes it is," she said with a smile. "And it's a beautiful city."

"Maybe I can ask Dean to go there soon. I'm sure he can find a job there. I want to see it."

Nellie let out a little squeal and grinned. "I would love for you to come visit, Sam! And guess what? I have a pool! Do you like swimming?"

"I love swimming. I can go really fast in the hotel pool, and I can stay underwater for a long time."

Because demons don't really need to breathe.

"That sounds like so much fun," Nellie chuckled. "My pool is outside and it's nice and warm here."

"So it doesn't get cold in Texas at all?"

"Well sure, it does, but not right now. Right now it's feelin' like Spring. And if you wanna know a secret? My pool is heated."

"I've never been in a heated pool before. Dean has. He says they are a lot of fun."

Because Sam has no idea what Dean does in heated pools. He's still under a lot of childish delusions.

"But then you'd get cold getting out and getting back into the house, wouldn't you?"

"Mmm, maybe a little cold. But that's what towels are for. Then you can run inside and warm up."

"I don't know if I have a swimsuit anymore."

"Hmmm...well, honey, I'm sure we could buy you one if you really wanted."

"Dean sometimes says that it's just better not to use one at all."

She smirked. "I'm sure he does," she said dryly. "But I'm not so sure Mr. Grumpy-pants would like you doin' that around me."

"Why not? He does it all the time."

She laughed. "Because...it's not somethin' you're really supposed to do around girls you...it..." she bit her lip, unsure how to say it. "It's just not appropriate to do with someone who is just your friend, I guess."

"Oh." He got up and went to look out the motel window at the noise he heard. There were three people trying to get something from the vending machine.

"Dean told me I wasn't allowed to talk to girls who didn't have their clothes on. But Now I know he was just saying that because he didn't want them to think I was hitting on them. Is that way?"
