Dean caught the look from his brother, then looked away, diverting his attention back to the menu and away from Nellie. He wasn't going to apologize for being protective of his brother. That was just job, and he wasn't going to say he was sorry for doing it.

He probably should apologize for being an ass, however. He wasn't, but at least he was acknowledging that he should. Instead he just did as Alec suggested and backed off, turning his attention elsewhere.
