After leaving the house, Sam kept the the trail he knew that would keep him within sight of the house as well as well within the pack territories. He hadn't called his brother since before he had gotten stuck for four days as a wolf, so he was pretty sure Dean was going to lecture him on something. But right now he just needed to hear Dean's voice for a bit, so he'd take what he could get as he waited for Dean to pick up.
