Dean was back.

There was no way to deny it. Sam couldn't help but just stare at him a moment while he slept on the fold-away bed, covered in books as they tried to find out what had brought him back.

Dean was back... because someone else had found a way.

He was worried, not understanding just what would have the power to bring Dean back, and in a condition that looked as if he had not just been a hell hound chew toy only four months ago.

He had no way of explaining it. And that made Sam scared because he didn't like not understanding something. It frustrated the hell out of him, and he needed answers.

Now.

Silently he got up and grabbed the keys to the Impala and headed for the door. He took one last look back at Dean before he slipped out the door, afraid that he might not be there when he came back.

And there was the part of him that was afraid that when Dean found out what has gone on in the last few months...

No. He had to focus. Dean's return was a good thing, a real good thing. But that couldn't keep Sam from from doing what had to be done.

And tonight there were two demons he had to deal with, and they had better have the answers he wanted to hear.

Or else.
