There was a bouquet of flowers in the locker room waiting for her when she got off shift. There was a card too, which said to go back out the door.

When she did, after getting changed, she was surprised by Sam leaning against the other wall in a pair of scrubs, smiling at her.

"You did this?"

"Yup." his grin increased.

She looked at the flowers in her hands, then walked over to him. "And what's with the scrubs?"

"They won't let you into this area unless they think you're supposed to be here." He picked up the backpack he had and slung it over his shoulder. No need to tell her about the stolen medical supplies. "And I figured that since I was in town, I would surprise you. Did it work?"

"It might have?"

"Might?" He smiled and wrapped an arm around her, pulling her close to give her a quick kiss.

She laughed. "Depends on if there's dinner to go along with these."

"I can be persuaded."
